Caps, onlays and crowns are three names for the same Cosmetic Dentistry procedure. A crown is a manmade, customized cover that’s cemented over a tooth’s top layer to restore and preserve a particular tooth.

Dr. Evans may prescribe a crown to restore a healthy, beautiful smile. Some reasons to consider a crown include:

• Decayed or damaged tooth that needs to be replaced
• Cracked or broken tooth
• Large cavities or failed fillings
• Tooth that has a large opening after a root canal procedure
• Cosmetic tooth problem
• Bite or jaw problem
